Two weeks ago today, AustStar Motors' Director, Theo Anthony and three loyal customers spent their day supporting the Mater Foundation for dementia research by playing a round of golf - arguably the best alternative to working on a Monday!
The golf buggies were all lined up, the grass was looking as lush as ever at the Royal Brisbane Golf Club and around 100 keen golfers were beginning to arrive. They were about to take part in the first Charity Golf Day for the Mater Foundation raising funds for Dementia Research.
Theo invited three long time customers Heather, Shayne and Chris to play on the AustStar Team. The weather was forecast for showers all day but from the shotgun start at 11am all of the players were in for some good luck with the rain only putting a damper on an otherwise great day on the second last hole. Theo, Heather, Shayne and Chris all played exceptionally well and even though they did not take out first place the AustStar Team had a score of 69 net, three under par. This included five birdies and two bogies.
AustStar Motors was proud to be a sponsor of the day at hole 18 where Jenna & Mary were manning the hole from the shot-gun start to the rainy end. AustStar Merchandise packs were given out but it was not the water bottles or caps that stole the show it were the red frogs and fantails!
The day was a success overall with the game concluding with canapes and drinks in the club house. Over $8000 was raised on the day and the Mater Foundation are hoping to make this an annual event so if you would like to be involved next year or be on the AustStar Team be sure to subscribe to our newsletter for all the latest information!
Another friend of AustStar, Andrey Orekov (AnD Photography) was invited to be the official photographer of the day and took some great shots of the team. See for yourself below!
I asked Aust Star Motors to do a thorough and careful job – and they did not disappoint. I took the car for a 30 kilometer drive after the service was done, and I was pleasantly surprised. The engine ran smoothly and quietly, idled well, and climbed hills effortlessly. There were no warning lights or unexpected surprises. Overall I thought it ran better than it did before, despite a fairly major engine overhaul. The car was even washed when I picked it up, another pleasant surprise.- Charles P. | 20 June 2017
